Step One

Monument Shape

Choosing the shape and size of your monument is an excellent starting point if you are unsure about your specific preferences. Throughout our website, you will find a variety of monument shapes to suit your needs. Our standard offerings include six distinct styles: Flush, Bevel, Slant, Upright, Benches, and Special Shapes. We recommend consulting with your cemetery to confirm any restrictions on monument shapes or sizes. If you require assistance during this process, please feel free to contact us.

Step One

Granite Color

Granite is available in a wide range of colors, each offering unique aesthetic appeal. It is important to note that color can significantly influence the overall cost of your monument. While both Black and Grey granite are known for their exceptional durability, Grey granite is generally the most affordable option. To explore a selection of popular color options, please visit the Monuments & Design section of our website.

Step Two

Foundation

Every monument requires a solid foundation to ensure stability and longevity. It is important to note that each cemetery charges a fee for this foundation, which can vary significantly. Some cemeteries offer this service for as little as 50 cents per square inch, while others may charge a higher rate. The regional average is approximately 85 cents per square inch. At The Modern Monument, we collaborate directly with your cemetery representative to ensure that your monument is placed on a secure and properly constructed foundation. Our goal is to provide you with peace of mind, knowing that every detail is handled with care and professionalism.
